Chocolate Cake Recipe

To go along with my Daily Tip, I thought I would share a recipe that I found for chocolate cake:

2 cups all purpose flour

2/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1  1/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon baking powder

1 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup (1  1/2 sticks) butter, softened

2/3 cup packed brown sugar

3 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla

1  1/3 cups water

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.  Grease 13×9-inch baking pan; set aside.
  2. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, salt and baking powder in medium bowl.  Beat granulated sugar, butter and brown sugar in large bowl with electric mixer at medium-high speed 2 minutes or until light and creamy.  Add eggs and vanilla; beat 2 minutes.  Add flour mixture alternately with water; beat just until blended.  Pour batter into prepared pan.
  3. Bake 25 to 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted into center comes out clean.  Cool in a pan on wire rack.

*Frost as desired

Daily Tip: Eat some cake…

It may not be a useful tip –  but it is a self-indulgence tip.  Chocolate cake – or chocolate in general – is something that you can just come home and eat in order to relax and unwind.

It’s a big world so, as always, never stop looking for small ways to make your day brighter.
