Time

Solace by Aaron Ang

Cracks across my face:
Like a bone
Covered with lace,
My skin comes undone.
Rivers of time:
I’ve never been so lost.
In the current of age’s rhyme
I wonder what my wasted time cost.
The wrinkles of life cover my fingers:
Like bark on an old oak tree.
I am grateful for time, for its memories,
Because in death, it has set me free.

In Memory

Music by Yanko Peyankov

Their music a part of who we are,
We build them up on the charts
And watch as they fall far
From our hearts.
Dancing across life’s stage,
Immortal in a single moment –
They crumble under fame’s age.
And they pass, leaving only remnant.
We’ve forgotten, as we idolize,
That they are human too.
And with tears in our eyes
We remember all they do.

Stardust

Night by Mathias Herheim

A million stars in the cosmos,
Pieces of dust that make you up at the utmost.
That’s where you’re from – the dust,
So tell me what’s your worth?
Dirt?
Are you holes in the blanket of night?
A thousand different lights in the universe –
Galaxies of dust that spin far off course.
You’re made of dust – stardust,
So that’s your worth. So much more than just
Dirt.

Summer

Summer by Martin Kníže

You disappear
While I’m still here.
A toss in the air,
Wind in my hair –
I feel you still:
You were happiness,
You were sunshine in every smile,
You were truth in every mile.
Front porches filled with dreams,
You hung from the moonbeams
Like birds filled their houses.
You changed our lifestyle
Told us we had a life worthwhile.
We called you
Summer.
But you disappeared.

Home

Abandoned Nest by Luke Brugger

Your home:
Where you learned to walk
And how to talk,
A space to call your own.
Then years passed
And something changed
Your life was rearranged.
You thought your mistakes made you an outcast.
But home is still home.
It’s not a perfect place,
But a permanent space
Where no matter what, you’ll never be alone.

Deception

The Phone by Thom Weerd

Who are you?

And why do I listen when what you say

Isn’t even true?

Images, pictures – deception is your name, every day.

Tell me, why can’t you let me be?

I have to escape,

Put you down so I can be free.

All you are is a picture perfect place.

Everywhere, they listen to you.

Tell me, when did people go out of style?

You’re the reason I’m so blue.

Technology, I’m tired of your smile.

Reflection

Reflection by Yu-chuan Hsu

The outside world

Sees you as a reflection.

Stamped with what you hold

They never let you forget your connections.

So stand tall,

Be everything in love,

Give life your all,

Smile when they are argumentative.

May you reflect

True things

And accept the imperfect.
