Time

Solace by Aaron Ang

Cracks across my face:
Like a bone
Covered with lace,
My skin comes undone.
Rivers of time:
I’ve never been so lost.
In the current of age’s rhyme
I wonder what my wasted time cost.
The wrinkles of life cover my fingers:
Like bark on an old oak tree.
I am grateful for time, for its memories,
Because in death, it has set me free.

Be Yourself

Walking into the Sunlight by Morgan Sessions

I see it in your eyes: fear.

You think there is nothing to hold you here,

But you believe you will find it there.

I can tell you: all you have to do is be yourself.

You try to please others,

But your discontent always hovers.

You ask why they cloud the truth in rumors –

All you have to do is be true.

There is no one who can do

What you were meant to.

There is no one who can live your dream

The way you were meant to.

Be yourself.

All My Love

Camera by Chancema

All my love

Is for you.

Every single heartbeat

Is meant for you.

I saw you from across the room,

That camera in your hands.

My face was captured with your flash

And now all my love

Is for you.

Be There

Boardwalk by Christian Holzinger
Picture Taken By: Christian Holzinger

I wish I could be there.

On that boardwalk, last summer

When you first told me you loved me.

Like fireflies, you lit up my world.

I wish I could be there.

When you told me you’d never leave,

And hold me forever, cherish me forever.

Why couldn’t that have been the truth?

Like summer, you came and left.

I wish I could be there.

Walking along the pier,

Laughing at your jokes

And smiling when you smiled.

Like cologne, you lost your affect on me.

I wish I could be there,

When life was as easy

As the next breath.

But like a dream, I woke up.

Alright

in the forest by doug robichaud

Bombs, grenades, knives, bullets

You never used any of those.

Looks, sneers, words, sarcasm

You have a whole fistful of them.

Degrading me to feel better about yourself,

Why can’t all of this just stop?

Please, no disrespect, but

What have I done to you?

You’re human – I’m human.

We’re brothers, sisters.

When I sit alone,

I think of these things.

How all we need is forgiveness,

And how everything could be alright.

Magically Beautiful

Magic Reflection by Alberto Restifo

This place is our home.

Vast waters, golden peaks

Time with nature and time alone.

So why does it seem so bleak?

Earth is in our charge,

So why do we just smoke and burn

Like purity is out of range?

When will we learn?

These vast realms

Are magically beautiful,

They are everything in our dreams.

They are the definition of powerful.

So why, why do we destroy?

Snow

Snow by Gabriel Santiago
Picture Taken By: Gabriel Santiago

Snow lives in the spaces between pines,

And hovers in the chill, ready to drop.

It dusts everything over,

With crystal white.

Snow is a frozen rain,

An outbreak from the clouds.

It holds footprints and angels,

It is evidence of wonder,

A force of nature.
